ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE MANAGER
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Maintenance Manager to support maintenance operations in our heat treating facility in Meadville, PA. This role involves working with furnaces, quench systems and industrial equipment. The position offers clear opportunity for growth into higher-level maintenance leadership roles. The primary role is Meadville, PA, travel to McKean, PA is to support potential outages and/or coverage when that Manager is on vacation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain and repair heat-treat equipment including furnaces, burners, quench tanks, and temperature-control systems.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules for motors, pumps, fans, furnaces, and safety systems.
•Diagnose mechanical, electrical, combustion, and control system issues.
•Perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on systems supporting plant operations.
• Support and guide maintenance technicians; assist with training and daily task coordination.
• Manage and close work orders.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols including lockout/tagout, combustion safety, and heat-treat standards.
•Respond to trouble calls, equipment failures, alarms, and urgent maintenance needs.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for furnace service and equipment repairs.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Industrial maintenance experience required; heat-treat or furnace experience strongly preferred.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience required.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Certifications in HVAC, electrical, combustion, or industrial maintenance are a plus.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., work in hot environments, and navigate industrial equipment areas.
