Responsibilities:

  • Manages and monitors work performance of the department including evaluations, program/work objectives and effectiveness. Establishes broad organizational goals and realigns work and staffing assignments for the department.
  • Provides customer service by investigating promotional and training opportunities for staff. identifies service improvement areas; distributes surveys to customers; discusses department improvement suggestions with staff; and circulates trade publications to educate staff on industry-related matters.
  • Develops department strategy by meeting with agency personnel. Consults with partners; maintains an understanding of current trends; composes reports; authors policies and procedures; collaborates with state agencies; and develops budgets.
  • Interacts with others outside the organization and exercises participative management skills that support team efforts and quality processes.
  • Assists in design creation by generating systems and software applications; and building solutions to address disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
  • Collaborates with other state agencies to discuss current needs and future requirements.
  • Consults with business partners to understand current and emerging technologies/trends
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Math, etc.) preferred or equivalent experience. Over five years up to and including seven years of experience.
  • Experience with ITIL practices for IT service management to align IT services with business needs.
  • Experience in IT architecture principles, framework and best practices.
  • Experience with NIST Cybersecurity risk management framework.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange in a hybrid environment.
  • Knowledge of complex network architecture including VMWare/SAN/WAN/LAN/VoIP/UCS technologies.
  • Knowledge of software development principles and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) management.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery testing, plans, and scenarios.
  • Knowledge of monitoring progress toward fiscal objectives and adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Skills in building relationships and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal with a system of real numbers; practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical journals, scientific literature, financial reports, legal documents and industry publications.
  • Hiring Rate: $120,439 – 148,402 (this exempt position will be filled at or near the posted salary)
