Summary and Purpose of Position:

The Coordinator II, Concurrent Enrollment reports directly to the Director, Pre-Collegiate Partnerships (PCP), and is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of MCC's College Now, dual enrollment program. The Coordinator II, Concurrent Enrollment position will have a laser focus on equity in access and student participation. Work directly with various college divisions and K-12 school systems to serve students in ways that create and promote coherent pathways to post-secondary degree attainment. The Coordinator II, Concurrent Enrollment, works collaboratively across college divisions to provide consistent and excellent student-focused service, leadership, and support. Builds new concurrent enrollment opportunities for school districts and for Monroe Community College. Serves as the primary contact with all concurrent enrollment partners and represents the College on school/college-related consortia and advisory boards and at local and state meetings.

Primary Functions:

  • Assist the Director, PCP, with plans and projects on the growth of the Concurrent Enrollment Program and other college readiness initiatives.
  • Create and maintain partnerships with high schools. Responsible for frequent and effective communication with key stakeholders, including college personnel, high school administrators, faculty, students, and parents regarding policy, program updates, and planning opportunities.
  • Work with high schools to create and oversee the Concurrent Enrollment master schedule.
  • Act as the primary liaison to Academic Departments, Admissions, Student Accounts, and Registration and Records on issues related to Concurrent Enrollment students.
  • Develop a Concurrent Enrollment handbook and master schedule each year.
  • Develop a three-year equity plan in collaboration with our Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accountability (IDEA) Council, the Rochester City School District, and other school districts for future implementation, focusing on equity in Concurrent Enrollment student participation.
  • Develop an efficient Concurrent Enrollment process and work with Technology Services to develop automated processes as needed.
  • Align equity plan and processes with guided pathways principles.
    • Proactively partner with high schools that serve predominantly underrepresented and high needs students to help students explore academic and career interests and develop viable plans for college.
    • Proactively partner with high schools that serve predominantly underrepresented and high needs students to assist administration in targeting teachers who meet MCC Concurrent Enrollment teaching certification requirements during the hiring process.
    • Develop a process for Concurrent Enrollment students to choose and take courses in an identified program area of interest.
    • Actively use its pathways to recruit high school students and ensure that they are prepared not only for college but to enter specific areas of interest.
    • Expose Concurrent Enrollment students to MCC Schools and pathways.
  • Create, maintain, and audit concurrent enrollment contracts with each high school site to ensure compliance with all college and the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) standards and requirements.
  • Develop and implement a concurrent enrollment master schedule to ensure direct alignment with MCC schools and guided pathways.
  • Collaborate with appropriate college offices and/or personnel to monitor, update, and maintain concurrent enrollment policies, practices, and protocols.
  • Work in collaboration with Institutional Research and the School's office on data collection, reporting, and assessment. Monitor the status of concurrent enrollment numbers and overall program effectiveness and identify other appropriate performance or activity metrics.
  • Assists the Director in maintaining NACEP accreditation.
  • Develops, writes, and presents reports, proposals, presentations, etc. detailing achievements of the Concurrent Enrollment Program.
  • Collaborate with partnering school site administrators, Marketing, and Admissions departments to market and recruit students for the Concurrent Enrollment program.
  • Direct programs for high school students, high school faculty/staff, and parents at designated high schools and on MCC's campuses, including preparing and conducting presentations regarding concurrent enrollment, post-secondary choices, and college readiness. Maintain and improve the concurrent enrollment information pipeline to high school partners.
  • Collaborate with the Director, PCP, in designing and coordinating College procedures, guidelines, and operating processes and relevant forms to facilitate the administration of the College Now dual enrollment program.
  • Coordinates efforts with various campus departments to guide, assist, monitor, and ensure seamless scheduling, enrollment, registration, and continuous support for concurrent enrollment students in accordance with internal policies and in compliance with other rules and regulations.
  • Identifies and resolves operational problems, administrative issues, and other workflow matters raised by faculty, District administrators, high school administrators, and/or students in the program. Maintain effective communication and ensure timely reciprocal exchange of information with key stakeholders.
  • Provide programmatic leadership through participation on college-wide initiatives, committees, task forces, and community agency advisory boards as appropriate for the growth and development of the college's concurrent enrollment program.
  • Provide community and college-wide training on concurrent enrollment policy, procedure, practice, and promotion.
  • Maintain consistent and effective communication with MCC's concurrent enrollment partners, school districts, and MCC's administration.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three years' experience in a secondary school or college setting or an organization that has educational partnerships, where values included promoting diversity, access, inclusiveness, and academic excellence.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills to work effectively with diverse internal and external clientele.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse internal and external clientele.
  • Proficiency with varied technology, such as office applications and program-specific applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience with concurrent enrollment programs.
  • Experience with college admissions, enrollment, and other higher education programs, or experience building relationships with high school partners.
  • Commitment to utilizing proven strategies for fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish or other languages proficiently.


Additional Information:

Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity, and college budget. This position has a range of $52,000 to $58,000 and is based on these mentioned factors.

MCC offers a Flexible Work Policy for benefit-eligible employees. Types of flexible work arrangements include flextime/staggered shifts, remote work/telecommuting, and compressed work schedules. This position involves primarily sedentary work, including prolonged periods of computer use and keyboarding. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Occasional travel between campus buildings or to other local or out-of-town locations for meetings or conferences may be required.
