About This Position

Position Title: Open Education Program Manager

The American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) is the collective spirit and unifying voice of our nation's Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs). AIHEC provides leadership and influences public policy on American Indian and Alaska Native higher education issues through advocacy, research, and programmatic initiatives; promotes and strengthens Indigenous languages, cultures, communities, lands, and tribal nations; and, through its unique position, serves member institutions and emerging TCUs.

Summary The Open Education Program Manager will implement and track program objectives in support of broadening TCU’s academic programs through faculty, student, and community engagement in open education resources. The Director will ensure that program engagement and activities remain focused on continuous improvement of the learning engagement model for knowledge stakeholders at all TCUs and the communities they serve.


Essential Functions:


· Design faculty/student recruitment strategies to raise awareness and increase participation

· Ensure adherence to licensing requirements relevant to open education resources

· Design faculty and student surveys, peer reviews, workshops, modules, trainings, and activities

· Grow a TCU Open Education community of practice

· Design strategy to reach reported goals

· Develop and implement year-long training program for faculty

· Development of the annual program narrative report, as required by funder

· Development of funder-required reports

· Other tasks as may be required by the program


Required Education, Experience and Attributes (minimum requirements):

● Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

● Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

● Ability to work collaboratively to meet shifting deadlines and priorities

● Excellent organizational and project management skills

● Self-starter who can work independently with a minimum of direction and supervision

● Demonstrated ability to interact effectively in a multicultural environment

● A background in Library Science is desired.


This position will report to AIHEC’s Vice President of Sponsored Programs.
