This is a senior leadership opportunity responsible for the performance, maturity, and scalability of a project management organization.
You will lead a team of project managers while overseeing a complex portfolio of SaaS and technology implementation engagements.
The role combines people leadership, portfolio governance, delivery excellence, operational improvement, and executive reporting.
You’ll establish scalable standards, processes, and tooling that improve predictability, accountability, and client outcomes.
As a key escalation point, you’ll help teams navigate delivery risks, scope changes, resource constraints, and high-stakes client situations.
You’ll work closely with Implementation, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, HR, and senior leadership in a globally distributed environment.
This role is ideal for a strategic, data-driven PMO leader who enjoys building high-performing teams and turning operational complexity into consistent results.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Project Management team, including goal setting, performance management, career development, recruitment, onboarding, and team capability building.
- Build and maintain a high-performing PMO culture centered on accountability, transparency, trust, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the active statement-of-work and enhancement portfolio, maintaining visibility into milestones, budgets, resources, delivery health, and overall project performance.
- Act as the primary escalation point for projects requiring additional leadership intervention, helping project managers resolve complex delivery, client, scope, timeline, and resource challenges.
- Establish and maintain portfolio governance cadences, including weekly project health reviews, quarterly scorecards, and executive-facing portfolio reporting.
- Ensure project managers consistently meet delivery standards across scheduling, scope and change management, client engagement, resource and budget stewardship, operational compliance, and project closure.
- Own project delivery data integrity across Rocketlane and Salesforce, driving accurate project information, resource allocations, timesheets, and portfolio reporting.
- Promote consistent adoption of project management tools, methodologies, internal documentation, and operational standards across the PMO.
- Use capacity planning, resource management, and timeline data to inform portfolio-level staffing decisions and anticipate future delivery requirements.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve project management methodologies, processes, and workflows to increase efficiency and consistency at scale.
- Analyze patterns in escalations, scope changes, timeline variance, and delivery performance to identify systemic improvements and strengthen project outcomes.
- Champion disciplined change management by ensuring scope changes are formally approved before work begins and monitoring compliance through portfolio reviews.
- Collaborate with Implementation, Digital Transformation, Sales, Customer Success, HR, and other functions to improve handoffs, capacity planning, team development, and client alignment.
- Translate portfolio data into clear, decision-ready insights for senior leadership, providing visibility into capacity, risks, delivery performance, and opportunities for improvement.
- 10+ years of project management experience, including at least 5 years in people leadership or PMO management.
- Demonstrated experience leading a project management team and managing a complex, multi-project portfolio within SaaS, professional services, technology implementation, or a similar environment.
- Proven track record of building or maturing PMO functions, including establishing scalable governance frameworks, delivery standards, processes, and tooling practices.
- Previous experience leading or contributing to an Agile transformation is required.
- Strong experience managing escalations, client-facing complexity, and high-stakes delivery situations while coaching project managers toward effective resolution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or an equivalent project management certification is required.
- Strong command of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Experience with Rocketlane or a comparable professional services automation/project delivery platform is strongly preferred, alongside familiarity with Salesforce.
- Strong data and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret portfolio dashboards, burn-rate information, resource plans, capacity data, and delivery KPIs.
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to establish accountability while maintaining trust and psychological safety.
- Clear and structured communication skills, including the ability to translate operational complexity into concise executive-level reporting.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and experience partnering with Sales, Implementation, Customer Success, HR, and senior leadership.
- Ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams and navigate complex organizational environments.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States, Canada, or the European Union.
- Remote-first work environment with flexibility to work from a location that supports productivity and well-being.
- Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
- Flexible PTO policy to support personal well-being and professional commitments.
- Tuition reimbursement and lifestyle-related reimbursements.
- Bespoke mindfulness and fitness initiatives.
- Opportunities for professional and personal development across a broader, globally connected organization.
- Internal mobility opportunities, including the ability to explore new roles, leadership positions, and different functions.
- High level of autonomy and responsibility, with the freedom to approach work creatively and independently.
