Job Description

Growth Marketer, Community & Engagement

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Growth Marketer, Community & Engagement based in the United States.

As a Growth Marketer, Community & Engagement, you will own the earliest stages of the relationship between educators and a mission-driven education platform.
You will develop content, community experiences, and advocacy programs that turn free teacher users into highly engaged, enthusiastic advocates.
The role combines growth marketing, storytelling, community building, events, and data-informed experimentation.
You will work closely with Marketing, Product, Sales, Support, and Retention teams to translate educator insights into stronger engagement and downstream opportunities.
Your work will include newsletters, webinars, blogs, social content, conferences, meetups, and ambassador initiatives designed around genuine teacher value.
You will have significant ownership to build new programs from the ground up while continuously testing, measuring, and improving what works.
This is an opportunity to directly support educators and contribute to a broader mission of expanding access to high-quality education.

Accountabilities:
  • Grow and deepen engagement among free teacher users through content, community programming, advocacy initiatives, and ongoing experimentation.
  • Develop advocacy playbooks and in-app nurture programs in partnership with Product to increase teacher usage and long-term engagement.
  • Create teacher-focused programming, including webinars, newsletters, blog content, conferences, regional and virtual meetups, and roundtables.
  • Develop newsletters featuring practical teaching insights tailored to specific grade levels and audiences.
  • Own blog maintenance, editorial planning, and content cadence, with a focus on usage and engagement rather than immediate lead conversion.
  • Build and manage organic social content across relevant channels, including Reddit and other educator-focused communities.
  • Develop a long-term ambassador program for highly engaged teachers and create strategies to turn enthusiastic users into advocates.
  • Partner with Retention Marketing and Brand & Impact teams to incorporate customer testimonials and educator stories into broader marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Support, Product, and other teams that interact directly with educators to gather insights and identify opportunities to grow engagement.
  • Share free-user insights with the broader Marketing organization and provide Sales with new perspectives for teacher-level lead generation.
  • Partner with Performance Marketing to manage the transition from free-user activation to conversion and identify appropriate opportunities for strategic lead-generation campaigns.
  • Track and report on engagement and advocacy metrics, including webinar attendance and satisfaction, newsletter performance, blog engagement, organic social results, and ambassador participation.
  • Analyze how traffic, registrations, sign-ins, and top-of-funnel engagement contribute to downstream conversion.
  • Continuously test new content, community, and advocacy approaches, scaling what works and retiring initiatives that do not deliver meaningful results.
  • Represent the organization externally through webinars, conferences, meetups, roundtables, and other educator-facing activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2–4 years of experience in content marketing, community marketing, growth marketing, or a related field.
  • Professional experience teaching English Language Arts (ELA), preferably with students in grades 6–12.
  • Experience in education, a mission-driven organization, or a freemium/product-led growth environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong writing, storytelling, and content development skills, including experience creating newsletters, blogs, webinars, or similar educator-facing materials.
  • Comfortable serving as a public-facing representative through webinars, conferences, blog content, and community programming.
  • Experience using or quickly learning collaboration and content tools such as HubSpot, Notion, Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom.
  • Experience hosting or producing live virtual events is preferred.
  • Familiarity with social media management platforms such as Sprout Social or comparable tools is preferred.
  • Experience using large language models (LLMs), particularly Claude, is preferred.
  • Strong curiosity about what motivates educators to engage with and advocate for products they value.
  • Demonstrated ability to create new programs and processes without relying on a rigid existing playbook.
  • Strong strategic thinking, initiative, organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable speaking with and facilitating sessions for educators in webinars, meetups, roundtables, and conferences.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across a multidisciplinary team.
  • Positive, adaptable, feedback-oriented mindset with a willingness to contribute to additional projects as needed.
  • Alignment with a mission focused on improving educational outcomes and expanding access to high-quality learning.
  • Must be based in the United States.
  • Ability to travel to regional or state conferences, with an expected commitment of approximately one 2–3 day conference per quarter.
  • Ability to work for extended periods at a desk using a computer.
Benefits
  • Annual salary of $70,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • HSA and FSA options, including Medical FSA, Limited FSA, and Dependent Care FSA.
  • Company-sponsored basic life insurance, with supplemental coverage options.
  • Legal insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% safe-harbor employer match.
  • Access to employee discounts, including pet insurance and hotel booking discounts.
  • Remote work support, including a home-office setup stipend.
  • 16 paid holidays annually.
  • Paid time off and sick leave.
  • Paid family leave, including caregiver and medical leave.
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Two floating holidays.
  • Volunteer and school visitation leave.
  • Jury duty, bereavement, compassionate, and eligible donation leave.
  • Flexible work options within a remote-first environment.
  • Low-stress work periods around Thanksgiving and late December.
  • Monthly remote team activities and virtual social events.
  • Monthly "CoffeeLit" sessions for informal connection with colleagues.
  • Learning and development opportunities for both individuals and teams.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization focused on improving educational access and outcomes.
