About the role

• The Student Success Coordinator supports the electrical and manufacturing classes across the South Central Texas region. This role involves working closely with students enrolled in Skillpoint's training programs to ensure their successful graduation. The coordinator identifies and addresses obstacles that may hinder student progress, focusing on student retention through dedicated coaching and mentoring.
• This position will be based across Skillpoint's South Central Texas operational locations, with regular regional travel and visits to cohorts and training sites throughout the area. The South Central Region includes New Braunfels and San Antonio and surrounding counties (including Hays, Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe, Bexar, and Gonzales). Skillpoint hosts electrical and manufacturing classes in multiple regional sites and may offer cohorts across the broader Central Texas region based on student and employer demand.

What you'll do

• Student Retention & Mentoring: Conduct classroom visits, individual check-ins, and connect students to emergency funds, housing, and transit resources.
• Pre-Class & Class Support: Lead orientations, monitor attendance, track student progress with instructors, and coordinate tutoring/retesting.
• Admin & Field Operations: Manage tech inventory (e.g., students' computers), maintain Airtable records, proctor exams, and travel regionally between training sites.
• Travel Requirements: Ability to travel between regional South Central Texas campuses for face-to-face meetings with students and campus instructors.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: Associate/Bachelor's degree + 3 yrs experience, OR High School diploma + 5 yrs experience.
• Target Audience Experience: Background working with justice-impacted, low-income, veteran, or diverse/at-risk populations.
• Key Skills: Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, public speaking, and MS Office/Google/Airtable skills.
• Location & Travel: Based in or relocating to New Braunfels, TX, with reliable transportation for regional field travel.
• Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
