Job Description
SUMMARY:
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for planning, creating, publishing, and optimizing organic social media content across all brand platforms. This role replaces the external agency and brings content creation, community engagement, influencer coordination, and social analytics in‑house. The Specialist collaborates closely with the Marketing Operations Manager, Marketing Project Coordinator, and Jr. Email/E‑Comm Associate to ensure social content aligns with broader campaigns, product launches, and brand standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and execute monthly social media content calendars across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
- Create original content (photo, video, short‑form, long‑form) aligned with brand voice and campaign objectives.
- Manage daily posting, scheduling, and community engagement.
- Track performance metrics and provide weekly/monthly reporting.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Project Coordinator on campaign timelines and asset routing.
- Support influencer and ambassador initiatives through content coordination and performance tracking.
- Monitor social trends and recommend new content formats, platform opportunities, and engagement strategies.
- Maintain digital asset organization for social content.
- Partner with the Jr. Email/E‑Comm Associate to align social content with email and e‑commerce promotions.
- Ensure all social content reflects the brand’s tone, visual identity, and messaging standards.
- Adapt and repurpose content across platforms to maximize reach and engagement.
- Interpret social analytics and translate insights into actionable content recommendations.
- Stay informed on platform updates, algorithm changes, and emerging best practices to guide content strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1–3 years experience in social media content creation or digital marketing. Strong understanding of social platforms, analytics, and content trends. Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, CapCut, or similar tools. Strong writing, visual storytelling, and communication skills.
PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Experience with influencer outreach or ambassador programs. Basic photography or videography skills. Familiarity with social commerce tools (Instagram Shop, TikTok Shop). Experience with project management tools (Planner, Asana, Trello).
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing, communications, business or other related degree and/or a minimum of one year related experience required. A combination of education and experience will also be considered.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret bar graphs. Must be able to conduct simple analysis and present in written and oral reports.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to sit on a generally consistent basis while working on a computer and typing on a keyboard. Ability to walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as file cabinet drawers and reach overhead. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Fast paced office environment that entails juggling multiple projects requiring acute attention to detail simultaneously. This position will work primarily from their own cubicle/workstation, which involves sitting at a desk and working on a computer for the majority of the workday. However, the work environment also involves interactions with management and staff members from all levels of the organization, including Executives.
