CNC Machine Operator

Location: Hendersonville, NC
Pay: $20.00/hour
Shift: 3rd | Monday - Friday | 11:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to support production in a heavy manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring industrial equipment used to produce high-performance wire and metal products. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate industrial machinery, including wire drawing equipment, to meet production specifications
• String up wire, load materials, and adjust machine settings to maintain proper size, finish, and mechanical properties
• Monitor machine performance, including speeds, feeds, and tolerances, to ensure consistent quality
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production instructions
• Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Conduct quality checks including weighing, tagging, and packaging finished products
• Identify defects or equipment issues and make minor adjustments or escalate as needed
• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance to ensure efficient machine operation
• Operate hoists, pulleys, and material handling equipment safely (forklift/crane experience a plus)
• Accurately document production data, measurements, and quality checks in required systems
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout practices
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred
• Ability to read measuring tools and interpret technical instructions
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing facility with exposure to heat, noise, and moving machinery
• Physically active role requiring standing, lifting, and repetitive motion
• PPE required, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection
