CNA Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, medication reminders, and escort services.
  • Take, document, and report vital signs, following established care plans and nurse/physician direction.
  • Provide emotional and social support while promoting resident dignity, independence, and comfort.
  • Support daily operations, including dining assistance, documentation, and light resident-related tasks as needed.
  • Observe residents and promptly report changes, concerns, or safety issues to supervisors.
  • Follow all safety, emergency, and infection control procedures and participate in required training and meetings.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful demeanor with residents, families, visitors, and team members.
  • Comply with all facility policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

CNA Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:

  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or CHHA license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 18 months of hands-on experience working in Rehabilitation and/or Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) facilities, including experience taking and charting vital signs.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • High School Diploma or GED required (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist residents requiring physical support.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English clearly and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
