DUTIES

DUTIES *

The Assistant Director will work full-time alongside the Director to learn the tasks of the job in preparation to step into the Director's position in the following year. From January to April the Assistant Director will work 5 hours per week, with the exception of attending a 4 day conference in Ottawa n January. During this time duties will include writing grant proposals, scheduling workshops and hiring summer staff. From May to August the Assistant Director will work full-time supervising staff, performing administrative duties, overseeing curriculum development, fundraising (grant applications), marketing, delivering workshops and camps, as well as working with parents, campers and instructors to solve problems. For the month of September the Assistant Director may be required to work part-time to conclude summer programming reports.

The hours of work throughout the school year will vary but the average will be 5-8 hours per week, the Assistant Director will schedules his/her own time to adjust for university demands as well as duties required. During the months of May to August the Assistant Director will work Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm.

QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS *

The Assistant Director of Eureka! must have prior experience working with children in an education or camp setting. Must be a current student at TRU in at least a 4 year program. The candidate must possess people management skills and expertise and must also been competent with word processing, data management and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
