About This Position
About the Role:
As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for guests, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive experience from the moment they enter the establishment. Your primary objective is to manage guest seating efficiently, ensuring smooth flow and minimal wait times while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. You will coordinate with the service team to optimize table turnover and accommodate special requests, contributing to overall customer satisfaction and operational success. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills to handle reservations, greet guests, and manage the waiting list effectively. Ultimately, your efforts will directly impact the establishment's reputation and guests' likelihood to return.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and manage a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills for managing reservations and seating charts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working as a host or hostess in a restaurant or similar setting.
- Familiarity reservation management software Resy.
- Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of food and beverage menus to assist guests effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage the seating process to ensure an organized and efficient flow.
- Maintain and update the reservation system, including managing waitlists and accommodating special seating requests.
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to coordinate guest seating and service needs.
- Provide guests with accurate wait time estimates and answer any questions regarding the menu or establishment policies.
- Handle guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
