About the Role:
As a Restaurant Host, you will be the first point of contact for guests, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive dining experience. Your primary objective is to manage guest seating efficiently while maintaining a smooth flow of the dining room. You will coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service, contributing to overall customer satisfaction. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Basic computer skills to manage reservations and seating charts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using restaurant reservation software such as OpenTable or Resy.
- Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse customer base.
- Knowledge of local dining trends and menu familiarity.
- Conflict resolution skills and experience handling difficult customer situations.
- Certification in hospitality or customer service training.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage the seating process to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain an organized waitlist and manage reservations using the restaurant’s booking system.
- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate guest seating and special requests.
- Answer phone calls promptly to handle reservations, inquiries, and takeout orders.
- Address guest concerns or complaints professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Ensure the host stand and entrance area are clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required, including setting up the host station and preparing seating charts.
