The Proposal Coordinator Student Employee will support the proposal development team by assisting with coordination, organization, and documentation of proposal activities under close supervision. This internship provides hands-on exposure to business development and sales, proposal development processes, cross-functional collaboration, and industry-standard tools used in competitive bids and submissions. This role is ideal for a student interested in learning about business development and sales, proposal management, communications and project coordination, within a professional services or research-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the review and analysis of solicitation, bid, and proposal requirements
Assist in preparing and maintaining proposal tools and documents, including annotated outlines, compliance matrices, proposal schedules, and data call matrices
Help establish and maintain proposal file structures in shared drives or SharePoint sites
Support coordination of proposal status meetings and internal deadlines
Assist with collecting, organizing, and tracking proposal inputs from internal teams and external partners
Help prepare and distribute materials for proposal reviews and debrief sessions
Perform basic compliance checks to ensure reviewer comments and edits are incorporated
Assist with integrating draft text and graphics into proposal sections
Support proposal submission preparation, including electronic uploads and documentation tracking
Perform other reasonable and related duties in support of proposal development activities
Education Requirements (Required):
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree
Preferred fields of study include Business, Management, Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, Project Management, or a related discipline
Candidate must remain actively enrolled for the duration of the internship
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a structured environment
Interest in proposal development, business development, or project coordination
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Skills and Attributes:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with AI and SharePoint is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to follow established processes and instructions
Willingness to learn and apply industry-standard proposal development tools and methodologies
The hourly rate range for Student positions are:
Undergraduate: $16-29 per hour
Masters: $27-33 per hour
Ph.D: $31-36 per hour
These ranges are an estimate, and the actual hourly rate may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The hourly rate may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
As an EPRI Student, you will not participate in EPRI’s Benefit Programs which includes health insurance, retirement benefits, vacation, sick leave (except as set required by law) and holiday pay. However, as a Student employee you are eligible for the benefits of Social Security, State Disability Insurance, and Workers’ Compensation Insurance.
For Student positions which require one to relocate to an EPRI office. Relocation assistance is not provided and the student will be responsible for covering all relocation costs/expenses.
EPRI participates in E-Verify, an online system operated jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration (SSA). EPRI uses the system to check the work status of new hires by comparing information from the employee's I-9 form against SSA and Department of Homeland Security databases.
