About This Position
General Summary:
The EDI Specialist will manage and optimize electronic data interchange (EDI) processes, ensuring seamless data exchange between the company and its trading partners. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining EDI documentation and standards, as well as troubleshooting and resolving EDI-related issues. You will translate client requirements and configure integration workflows, serving as the technical liaison for new onboarding engagements and existing integrations
JOB DUTIES:
- Oversee end-to-end EDI operations, including setup, configuration, testing, and deployment of EDI transactions to ensure accurate and timely data exchange with trading partners.
- Develop, document, and maintain EDI standards, mappings, and workflows, ensuring alignment with industry protocols (e.g., ANSI, X12, EDIFACT) and internal business requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for EDI onboarding, working closely with new and existing trading partners to gather requirements, define integration specifications, and ensure successful implementation.
- Monitor and analyze EDI transaction flows (e.g., purchase orders, invoices, shipping notices) to proactively identify and resolve errors, delays, or compliance issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, supply chain, finance, and customer service, to integrate EDI solutions with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and support business process automation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve EDI-related issues, including data mapping errors, transmission failures, and partner-specific discrepancies, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Continuously evaluate and improve EDI processes, identifying opportunities for automation, scalability, and enhanced data accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Familiarity with API technologies (REST, JSON, XML) and integration patterns.
- Experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or similar integration platforms.
- 2-3 years of experience in EDI operations and integration management.
- Understanding of EDI communication protocols such as AS2, SFTP, and VANs.
- Hands-on experience with EDI standards (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and an understanding of common transaction sets.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite or SAP preferred).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve data mapping issues.
- Communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with IT, Customer Service, Supply Chain and external trading partners.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position is primarily office-based, involving prolonged periods of computer use and sitting.
- Standard business hours apply, with occasional after-hours work to support system updates or urgent issues.
- Limited travel may be required.
