Position Title: FFL Compliance Associate

Reports To: Firearms Compliance Manager

Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Compliance Associate is to ensure all documents related to firearms transactions are complete and correct. This includes processing and proofing any necessary forms for the transfer or sale of regulated firearms merchandise.

Essential Duties

Overview

  • Reviews and evaluates data and information from multiple sources.
  • Confirms completeness and correctness of received data/information and resolves inconsistencies.
  • Accurately enters required data into one or more databases, programs, or documents.
  • Manipulates, transfers, enters, and prints information as necessary.
  • Uses knowledge, discretion, and judgment to ensure compliance
  • Prioritizes tasks to maintain timely processing

Firearm Transactions

  • Numbers and sorts documents related to firearm transactions
  • Reviews and updates computer entries pertaining to each transaction
  • Verifies all appropriate documents are collected and processed appropriately
  • Confirms completeness and correctness of documents by proofing (4473, SP-65, V-check, Invoice, other ATF forms, etc.)
  • Uses existing knowledge and judgment to determine standards for form completion and correctness
  • Exercises discretion in determining potential problems specifically in relation to potential license violations
  • Separates documents accordingly in preparation for filing
  • Processes corrections by maintaining error-logs, copying documents, compiling and completing mailings, and filing
  • Accurately and appropriately files all documentation
  • Ensures Multiple Sale Report compliance by examining transactions, running reports, completing forms, responding to requests, and maintaining systems
  • Acts as point of contact for Multiple Sale Report inquires
  • Assists with trace requests

Other

  • Collaborates with FFL Coordinator to prioritize and manage workload for both positions
  • Assists as necessary with NFA paperwork and eForms
  • Answers incoming telephone calls and redirects as necessary
  • Performs other duties as required or directed
