JOB RELATIONSHIPS

Supervises RNs and other Patient Care Services Employees. Responsible to Radiology/Imaging Manager and the Department Director.

DEFINITION OF POSITION
-
The Special Procedure Nurse is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of patients undergoing diagnostic and invasive procedures in radiology and other ancillary areas of the hospital. Insertion of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters along with resource knowledge of Vascular Access.

QUALIFICATIONS
-
Professional
-
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.

Minimum 2 years critical care CCU, ED) nursing experience within the last 2 years.

Current ACLS and PALS certifications or obtained within 6 months of employment.

Current BLS Healthcare Provider credentials through an AHA program.
-
Pediatric experience preferred.
-
Competency trained in conscious sedation.
