Job Description

Troy Bank and Trust is excited to announce an opportunity to join our team in the Troy office.

This position provides clerical and administrative support to our accounting department by analyzing expense reports, verifying and reconciling invoices, and charging expenses to accounts and cost centers. Responsibilities include:


Prepare and process electronic payments (ACH/wire transfers) and checks to meet payment deadlines and optimize cash flow

Receive vendor invoices/statements by mail/email; forward to proper bank officer for review/approval for payment using A/P workflow software

Process vendor invoices/statements for payment using bank software within stated vendor timeframe

Scan payment documentation into A/P software and/or imaging files indexed by GL account

Reconcile GL accounts with subsidiary documentation

Reconcile internal DDA monthly account statements with subsidiary documentation

Assist Accounting Department with meeting goals and objectives to include but not limited to:

  • Obtain W-9 tax forms
  • Responsible for 1099 reporting
  • Assist with month end closing
  • Assist with year-end accounting activities
  • Responsible for sales tax/use tax data compilation, preparation and reporting
  • Obtain all insurance documents (proof of liability, worker's comp, etc.) for active contractors

Other duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications include the following:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (8 or more years) in Business, Accounting, Finance or relatable field

Accounting experience required

Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Ability to adapt to / use specialized business software

Proven knowledge/experience in processing of Accounts Payable

Proven knowledge/experience in general bookkeeping including reconciliation of accounts

Proven knowledge/experience of sales tax function

Requirements:

Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees

Must work in person/office
