Willis-Knighton Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant will provide nursing care to patients in the physician's office under the supervision of the clinical Physician. The supervising physician delineates the privileges and duties through skill assessment. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: assessing the health status of patients and collaborating with the nursing staff and physicians to establish care procedures; contributing to the planning of appropriate nursing interventions; administering treatments in accordance with department policies and procedures; administering medications to patients under direct supervision and allocation of the respective clinic physician/provider; documenting patient assessment with objective and subjective symptoms utilizing appropriate clinical method and records; and providing educational needs and assist in scheduling referral appointments and procedures as needed. The applicant considered for this position must be a high school graduate and must be a graduate of an approved medical assistant program or have verification of documented experience in a medical office setting in patient care.
