Objective
The Activities Coordinator for the Westchester Middle School position is a .8 Coordinator with a .2 teaching and/or other responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate, schedule, and supervise student arrivals and dismissals, including but not limited to:
- early arrivals and serving as backup, which requires a 7:30 a.m. start time.
- creating and maintaining student arrival and dismissal supervision schedules and providing necessary coverage in the event of absences
- communicating expectations/responsibilities as well as overseeing and monitoring performance of arrival and dismissal crews
- assisting with alternate or emergency arrival and dismissal plans
- Coordinate, schedule, and supervise lunch and recess, including but not limited to:
- creating and maintaining indoor and outdoor recess schedules for students and recess crew
- providing active supervision of lunch and recess
- arranging coverage for all these activities in the event of absences
- communicating expectations/responsibilities as well as overseeing performance of recess crews
- checking equipment on a regular basis for safety and broken or missing parts; ordering supplies as needed
- scheduling and coordinating lunch/recess
- scheduling supervision of and overseing homework room (if applicable) including tracking student attendance
- Sending updates and reminders as needed
- Coordinate, schedule, supervise after school clubs and activites per season.
- Scheduling, organizing, supervising Afterschool clubs and activites in collaboration with Director of Athletics, PE, After School Programs.
- Plan and organize trips both academic and Friday trips
- Purchase tickets
- Works with Business Office
- Arranges Transportation
- Gets trips on calendar
- Takes time to visit possible trips or replans same trip with new ideas
- Lead Chaperone for all Friday Afternoon Trips
- Attend academic trips as possible
- Coordinate, schedule, and supervise hall duty including but not limited to:
- Creating and updating hall duty schedule
- Scheduling necessary coverage in the event of absences
- Sending updates and reminders as needed
- Work with Campus Head, Assistant Campus Head and Director of Athletics as needed to fulfill responsibilities.
- Additional responsibilities assigned by the Campus Head.
Specific Requirements
- Non-probationary faculty preferred, but all faculty and staff are welcome to apply
