Accounts Payable Technician

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Accounts Payable Technician in Canada.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional to contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of a dynamic accounting operations team. You will be responsible for processing and validating vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The position plays a key role in supporting the financial integrity of the organization through accurate data entry, reconciliation, and compliance with accounting procedures. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where precision and accountability are highly valued. This role also involves resolving discrepancies, supporting payment cycles, and ensuring smooth financial operations across departments. It is an ideal position for someone who enjoys structured processes, high-volume transactions, and continuous interaction with suppliers and internal teams.

Accountabilities:

You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable activities while supporting smooth financial operations and strong vendor relationships.

  • Review, code, and process vendor invoices in accordance with internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation to ensure accuracy
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in collaboration with internal departments and suppliers
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive working relationships with external partners
  • Prepare and execute payment runs, including cheques, EFTs, ACH, and wire transfers
  • Apply payment confirmations and maintain accurate records of processed transactions
  • Provide backup documentation and support for supplier payments and inquiries
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate payment processing cycles
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards, policies, and internal audit requirements
Requirements:

This role requires strong attention to detail, solid accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage high volumes of transactional data in a structured and accurate manner.

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounts payable processes
  • Experience handling invoice processing and high-volume transactional data
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and database systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a team-oriented mindset
  • Ethical, accountable, and reliable work approach
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors professionally
  • Knowledge of English is required due to international communication and documentation needs
