This role sits at the core of financial accuracy and compliance within a highly regulated, federal contracting environment. You will ensure that billing, invoicing, expense management, and reporting processes are executed with precision and in line with strict government standards. Working closely with project managers, finance teams, and operational stakeholders, you will help maintain financial integrity while supporting process improvements and operational efficiency. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks such as FAR and DCAA guidelines. You will also contribute to audits, reporting cycles, and continuous optimization of financial workflows. This is a remote position suited for a professional who thrives in structured, compliance-driven environments and enjoys working independently while collaborating across teams.
You will be responsible for managing financial operations with a strong focus on compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across billing, expenses, and reporting processes in a government contracting context.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely invoices aligned with federal contracts and regulatory requirements.
- Review contract terms and funding details to ensure proper billing execution and compliance with established guidelines.
- Monitor, review, and approve employee expense reports while ensuring adherence to company policies and federal regulations.
- Audit expenses for accuracy, documentation quality, and compliance with travel and per diem rules.
- Support AP/AR and payroll-related processes as needed, ensuring smooth financial operations.
- Collaborate with project managers and finance teams to resolve billing issues and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Maintain accurate financial records and support audit readiness and reporting requirements.
- Assist in preparing financial and compliance reports for internal stakeholders and management.
This role requires solid experience in financial operations, strong analytical capabilities, and familiarity with compliance-driven accounting environments, ideally within federal contracting structures.
- 4+ years of experience in billing, accounts payable/receivable, or financial operations.
- Strong proficiency in accounting and billing systems, with Unanet experience strongly preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for reporting, analysis, and financial tracking.
- Strong understanding of financial processes, expense management, and invoice lifecycle.
- Familiarity with FAR, DCAA compliance, and government contracting accounting principles (preferred).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment with strong attention to detail.
- Experience supporting teams with frequent travel and expense reporting processes is a plus.
