Job Summary:

The Sr. Field Technician is responsible for performing the tasks of a Field Technician and other supporting roles where business needs arise, including a back-up for the role of Procurement.

Field Technician Responsibilities:

  • Attending on-site pre-study briefings at the beginning of each shift
  • Become familiar with testing guidelines at start of each shift/job by thoroughly reading and comprehending the execution instructions
  • Setting-up of testing area before fielding and breaking-down testing area at study completion
  • Ensuring booth computer equipment is working for consumers
  • Serving correct products, following sequence as indicated in project instructions and on RedJade serving console (or other data collection platform), and as directed by Test Supervisor
  • Cleaning and sanitizing consumer areas after each session, resetting for next session
  • Distributing product packages for consumers to evaluate for home use tests, if applicable
  • Assisting in various kitchen duties as assigned by Test Supervisor, including labeling serving vessels, monitoring serving supplies and restocking as needed, pre-portioning products, or assisting with storing product
  • Any other tasks as assigned by Test Supervisor, Testing Operations Manager, or Facility Director

Qualifications for all Sr. Field Technicians

  • Clear and professional verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in groups, coordinating activities effectively
  • Flexibility to adjust to last minute changes in schedule or work assignment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read and understand instructions both written and via computer
  • Strict attention to client confidentiality
  • Customer service experience strongly preferred
  • Restaurant serving experience a plus
  • ServSafe certification required after successful completion of first three months of employment

Procurement Responsibilities:

  • Pre-ordering, shopping, and picking up consumer test products at local grocery stores and online
  • Interacting and building professional relationships with grocery store managers or other procurement suppliers
  • Maintaining product integrity during delivery to Curion (coolers, blue ice packs, dry ice)
  • Handling special procurement requests, such as matching date codes, lot codes, or package size requirements
  • Keeping detailed notes of items while shopping (ex: dates found at specific stores)
  • Notifying Test Supervisor, Testing Operations Manager, or Inventory Technician (where applicable) when product is delivered to ensure timely attention to updating storage labels, labeling product with J# or P#, and proper storage
  • Ensuring Test Supervisor, Testing Operations Manager, or Inventory Technician (where applicable) follow product storage requirements as related to refrigeration or freezing
  • Safeguarding corporate credit card or debit card
  • Entering receipts and mileage into expense reimbursement software on same day of purchase
  • Submitting evidence of current driver’s license and auto insurance periodically as new or updated cards are issued and communicate with supervisor if driving privileges become revoked/suspended
  • Assisting kitchen team with field technician duties if needed and time permits
  • Other tasks as requested by supervisor

Qualifications to Perform Procurement Role

  • Ability to use the internet to research consumer products
  • Articulate, professional, and responsible
  • Successfully pass credit and background checks to be issued a company credit card
  • Organized with exceptional communication skills
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks
  • Reliable vehicle
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record subject to driving record check and auto insurance that meets state requirements
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexible schedule (including potential evenings and weekends, when needed)
  • Food safety knowledge is a plus
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certification by end of first three months of employment
  • Beginner-level experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on occasion, preferred
  • Significant amount of walking and driving

For the Senior Field Technician position in Irving, Texas, Curion offers a starting hourly pay rate of $17.00–$18.00, depending on each candidate’s qualifications and experience. This is a part-time, non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable laws. While this position is not eligible for Curion’s standard employee benefits package, employees in this role may participate in the Curion 401(k) Retirement Plan.
