The Opportunity:

The Physical Activity Enrichment Instructor will lead a dynamic, student-centered club focused on fostering physical literacy, teamwork, and confidence through active programming. This role includes instruction in one or more of the following: Mixed Sports (e.g., soccer, flag football), Parkour, Ping Pong, Post-Season Basketball (Co-Ed), or Martial Arts. The ideal candidate is an energetic educator or coach who brings expertise in their sport, strong classroom management, and a passion for youth development.

We are looking for highly qualified specialists who provide instruction in multiple sports and who specialize in 2 or more of the following areas:

Mixed Sports (Soccer): Introduce rules and techniques for multiple sports, emphasize team roles, rotations, and healthy competition.

Parkour: Teach movement safety, body awareness, and progressive obstacle-based challenges.

Ping Pong: Focus on skill development, hand-eye coordination, and singles/doubles play etiquette.

Post-Season Basketball (Co-Ed): Maintain interest and skill refinement after competitive season; foster co-ed play and teamwork.

Martial Arts: Instruct basic forms, discipline, and cultural context; prioritize self-control and goal-setting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure the safety, well-being, and engagement of up to 15 students during after-school programming.

  • Plan and facilitate engaging lessons and enrichment activities, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs and interests.

  • Establish learning objectives, monitor student progress, and support skill development through project-based activities.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participation, collaboration, and character development.

  • Prepare classrooms and materials, maintain attendance records, and assist with daily program setup and cleanup.

  • Implement safety protocols, including emergency procedures and evacuation drills.

  • Evaluate program effectiveness and adjust activities to maximize student engagement and outcomes.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the After-School Program Director.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certifications or credentials in relevant P.E disciplines are preferred.

  • Availability to work late afternoons and/or evenings (typically 4:00–6:00 p.m., with program hours between 3:00–6:30 p.m.).

  • Experience in sports/P.E and prior experience working with youth in a classroom, enrichment, or after-school setting preferred.

  • Strong communication, classroom management, and group facilitation skills, with the ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners and follow program schedules.

  • Passion for physical education and youth development; candidates qualified to lead instruction in multiple activities are preferred. Must successfully complete required background checks and clearances.

Salary:

  • $25 - $35 per hour
