POSITION TITLE: Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Program Manager II

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt

LOCATION: San Diego, CA

COMPENSATION: $26.44 - $29.47

Position Summary:

The Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator is responsible for recruiting participants for Kitchens for Good’s job training programs and ensuring a welcoming, informed entry experience for all applicants. This role increases program visibility by representing Kitchens for Good at community events and job fairs, cultivating strong partnerships with new and existing referral agencies, and marketing program opportunities to community members and partner organizations. The Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator conducts proactive outreach, builds and maintains referral pipelines, and follows up with prospective participants by phone and email to guide them through the full enrollment process.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Outreach and Recruitment

  • Responsible for recruiting program participants.
  • Supports program participants through the recruitment and application process; professionally following up in a timely manner and answering questions as needed; ensuring efficiency and a seamless experience for participants.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for applicants from initial inquiry through enrollment into a Kitchens for Good program.
  • Cultivates and maintains a network of referral partners.
  • Attend appropriate community events and resource fairs to develop and grow existing network of service referral partners.
  • Presents program information to referral partners and prospective applicants, including delivering presentations at partner sites, resource fairs, and onsite informational sessions.
  • Support and implement strong referral and application process for Kitchens for Good’s new Micro-Enterprise Program; collaborating with the Micro-Enterprise Team.
  • Assist in building and enhancing network of San Diego Community Based Organizations for outgoing referrals to support apprentice case management needs.

Applicant Support and Communication

  • Reviews program applications and supporting documents.
  • Perform eligibility assessment to ensure applicants fall within Kitchens for Good’s priority population requirements.
  • Communicates with potential candidates and conducts interviews to assess eligibility and alignment with program goals.
  • Communicates with applicants to request any additional documentation if needed to verify eligibility for program participation.
  • Submits all background checks for potential apprentices and communicates with Kitchens for Good’s HR Department as needed.

Documentation, Data Management, and Compliance

  • Reviews program applications and supporting documents to ensure applications are filled out properly.
  • Ensures that eligibility criteria are met and updated correctly in Salesforce
  • Collect documentation as needed to confirm eligibility and/or for grant requirement
  • Meet monthly data entry and outcomes goals.

General Support Duties

  • Assist in event planning and execution as needed.
  • Performs other related duties and special projects, as assigned.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 25 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a non-exempt full-time position scheduled for 40 hours a week, 8:30am-5:00pm Monday – Friday. Some weekend/evening work when needed. The position is eligible for the organization’s hybrid work policy, which would allow the individual to work from home 2 days a week and the remaining in the office.

Travel

Employees will be expected to travel 40% of the time attending job fairs, community events, and referral partner sites. Employees must have reliable transportation and the ability to work across multiple sites.

At Kitchens for Good, we are committed to pay transparency and equity. The base salary range for this position is provided to ensure clarity and fairness in our hiring process. The final salary offered will be determined based on a variety of factors, including your education, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge. We also take into account internal equity to ensure consistency and fairness across our team.

Please note that the listed range reflects the full salary potential for the role. Offers at the top of the range are not typical, as we aim to support long-term growth and advancement within the organization.

Requirements:

Education & Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Kitchens for Good alumni (graduate) who has a passion and strong understanding of our mission and vision of the organization and/or an individual who has lived experienced (Highly desired).
  • Proficient in Microsoft office 365 programs (Excel, Word, Power Point, One Drive, and Share Point)
  • Experience working with any or all of the following:
  • Foster youth
  • Ex-offenders/formerly incarcerated
  • Addiction, recovery, and other life-challenges
  • Job training, job placement, adult education, and adult literacy
  • Experience with Salesforce (highly desirable)
  • Experience working with agencies and local service providers in San Diego County.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (highly desirable)
