Maintenance Mechanic in Lancaster, Pennsylvania at GSM Industrial

GSM Industrial is a leading industrial fabrication, installation, and mechanical contracting company serving customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. We are looking for a skilled Equipment Maintenance Mechanic to help keep our shop and field equipment operating safely and efficiently.This job is Safety-Sensitive. Safety-Sensitive jobs include tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others.

The Equipment Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing a wide variety of industrial equipment, hand tools, and machinery. This role requires experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems, as well as a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and equipment reliability.

• Perform maintenance and repair of industrial equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on shop and field equipment.
• Repair and maintain hand and power tools.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
• Purchase parts and materials needed for repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs when approved by management.
• Assist with fabrication, welding, assembly, driving, and other shop-related activities as needed.
• Support production teams on projects that require maintenance expertise.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience, including electrical troubleshooting and repair.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.

• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, climb, kneel, reach overhead, and perform physical maintenance activities.
• Ability to work safely around industrial equipment and machinery.

Working Conditions

• Primarily works in a controlled shop environment.
• Occasional outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• May be required to respond to equipment breakdowns or emergencies outside of normal work hours.
