JOB SUMMARY:

Serve as a strategic HR partner to Distribution Center leadership. Drive business results while promoting an inclusive, employee-focused culture. Execute core HR programs including staffing, employee relations, performance, and safety. Ensure consistent policy compliance and workforce stability. Operate independently or within an HR team based on DC size and complexity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with operational leadership, Training and Quality and the Talent Acquisition team to support workforce planning, recruit and hire qualified candidates, and coordinate hiring initiatives such as job fairs and onsite hiring events. Facilitate onboarding activities including new hire orientation, documentation submission to Corporate HR, and system access coordination. Lead the hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of the HR Administrator role.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for both direct and temporary employees while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company regulations. Maintain strong relationships with temporary staffing agencies and monitor performance to ensure staffing requirements are met.
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and data integrity across all HR processes, documentation, and systems, consistently executing tasks in accordance with established procedures and company standards to ensure timely completion.
  • Oversee payroll administration processes including reconciling pay discrepancies, resolving timekeeping issues, approving timecards, and preparing weekly labor reports for staffing agencies. Review of HR reports on our payroll system and Veroot to ensure compliance. Supports implementation of DC pay structure changes. Support performance management processes including performance reviews and merit increase for hourly employees.
  • Manage and support the full attendance‑reporting process, partnering closely with Operations to ensure accuracy and consistency. Provide the appropriate corrective‑action forms, monitor follow‑through, and ensure timely resolution of all steps. Provide strategic oversight of the Perfect Attendance Program, ensuring program compliance, effectiveness, and alignment with operational goals.
  • Provide interpretation and guidance on HR policies and employment laws, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned state(s); maintain HR records (including personnel files and I‑9s), lead HR audits, leverage reporting dashboards to mitigate compliance risks, and ensure timely STA application and renewal submissions.
  • Manage employee relations issues with increasing independence by assessing workplace concerns, conducting thorough and objective investigations, and partnering with HR leadership to determine effective resolutions that mitigate risk and support a positive workplace culture. Escalate complex or high‑risk matters to Corporate HR and support investigations involving Title VII or other regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and organizational integrity.
  • Coordinate employee benefits administration including enrollments, changes, and terminations while serving as a resource for employees. Strengthen employee engagement by enhancing recognition programs, communication forums, and EOS initiatives, helping leaders act on insights to improve culture and employee experience.
  • Partner with employees and the third‑party administrator to effectively manage the FMLA, ADA, STD, and general leave‑of‑absence processes. Ensure clear, concise communication, timely collection of documentation, and consistent support for employees throughout their leave. Collaborate with HR Leadership on complex or sensitive cases to ensure compliance and appropriate resolution.
  • Maintain a strong and visible HR presence throughout the Distribution Center by actively participating in employee meetings, performance dialogues, and town halls to foster communication and engagement. Strengthening daily connection with employees through routine floor walks and consistent availability at the HR Bar to support an open, approachable HR environment.
  • Support workplace safety initiatives by monitoring HR-related compliance requirements, assisting with accident reporting, timely submission, clear documentation and serving as a liaison between employees and claims management during workers’ compensation cases. Partner with Loss Prevention and Safety teams to ensure proper case management and maintain OSHA compliance documentation.
  • Maintain employee communication boards and ensure timely posting of required legal notices, workers’ compensation information, job postings, and employee communications; oversee the employee ID badge program, ensuring timely issuance and updates, and partner with Operations to ensure compliance.
  • Management reserves the right to add or modify duties and/or responsibilities as needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred. HR certification preferred.
  • 2 to 4 years of progressive HR related experience required to include recruitment, employee relations, performance management, time keeping, and/ or safety.
  • Experience in a warehouse/production environment.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

  • Able to work several hours at night/early morning at least once per week.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills across multiple methods and employee levels.
  • Able to prioritize competing responsibilities and programs.
  • Elevated level of confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Physical Demands/Work Environment: This role operates in both professional office and warehouse environments and involves frequent exposure to varying temperatures (hot and cold), moderate noise levels, dust, dirt, and changing lighting conditions.
  • Regular sitting at workstation for 25 – 75% of the work shift. Frequent standing and walking
  • Able to work a range of shifts based on operational need.

Salary Range: $74,025 - $88,000
