HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE (Overview & Key Responsibilities):

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting and administering a broad range of HR functions across multiple U.S. states. This role serves as a key operational partner to leadership and employees by ensuring effective HR administration, compliance, payroll processing, benefits management, HRIS oversight, employee relations support, and process adherence. The HR Generalist plays a critical role in maintaining compliant, efficient, and employee-focused HR operations while supporting organizational objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Process and administer multi-state payroll accurately and timely in coordination with Finance and ADP payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Maintain payroll records, audit payroll data, and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Serve as primary administrator for the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Maintain employee data integrity, system configuration, workflows, and reporting capabilities.
  • Create and maintain HR dashboards, analytics, and leadership reporting metrics.
  • Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Administer employee leaves of absence including FMLA, ADA accommodations, paid family leave, military leave, and state-specific leave programs.
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation claims administration and return-to-work processes.
  • Support managers and employees in resolving workplace concerns and employee relations matters.
  • Support the termination process for compliance, coaching, off boarding.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Develop, document, and improve HR processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support onboarding, recruiting coordination, and employee lifecycle activities.
  • Maintain personnel files and HR documentation in compliance with record retention requirements.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all matters.
  • Perform other HR Generalist duties and special projects as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR related experience.
  • Experience supporting multi-state U.S. operations strongly preferred.
  • Experience with payroll processing and HRIS administration required.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or multi-site environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and payroll platforms (ADP experience preferred).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

COMPENSATION:

The compensation range for this role is $80,000–$85,000, plus eligibility for an annual performance‑based bonus.
