Job Description

Staff Commercial Pricing Strategist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Commercial Pricing Strategist based in the United States.

This is a senior individual contributor role focused on shaping pricing, packaging, and commercialization strategy across a broad enterprise software portfolio. You will serve as a strategic architect for enterprise agreements, marketplace and channel pricing, competitive commercial programs, and scalable monetization initiatives. Working across Product, Go-to-Market, Finance, Sales, Renewals, Marketing, Partners, and Deal Desk, you will translate pricing strategy into practical programs that drive growth and customer value. The role combines analytical rigor with hands-on execution, requiring the ability to move from strategic frameworks to operational implementation. You will also help evolve monetization models as AI capabilities and product offerings expand, while enabling sales teams to confidently navigate complex commercial conversations. This is an opportunity to operate as a highly trusted pricing expert, influence senior leaders without formal authority, and shape commercial strategy within a globally distributed, AI-forward organization.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead competitive pricing initiatives and tactical commercial programs, including promotions, competitive replacement offers, and deal strategies designed to strengthen market positioning and support revenue growth.
  • Own list-to-net price realization strategy across products, geographies, go-to-market segments, and routes to market, identifying opportunities to improve pricing effectiveness and commercial outcomes.
  • Partner with Product Management, Product Marketing, Sales, Finance, and other senior stakeholders to develop packaging and pricing strategies, evaluate monetization opportunities, and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Design, launch, and scale enterprise buying programs, including enterprise agreements and bundled offerings, that simplify purchasing, encourage broader product adoption, and maximize customer lifetime value.
  • Develop channel and cloud marketplace pricing strategies covering tiering, discounting, margins, and commercial structures across resellers, systems integrators, technology partners, and major cloud marketplaces.
  • Work closely with Deal Desk, Revenue Operations, and Data teams to operationalize commercial programs and ensure pricing strategies are implemented effectively and consistently.
  • Create pricing enablement resources such as training materials, playbooks, battlecards, and commercial guidance that help customer-facing teams communicate value and navigate pricing conversations.
  • Analyze competitive dynamics, market signals, product evolution, and customer behavior to identify pricing opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
  • Help shape monetization approaches for emerging AI and platform capabilities as product offerings and customer buying behaviors evolve.
  • Establish clear pricing frameworks and document strategic decisions, methodologies, and best practices to create scalable and repeatable commercial processes.
  • Operate as a trusted subject matter expert and strategic advisor, influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment across functions without relying on formal authority.
  • Contribute to an asynchronous, globally distributed operating environment through clear written communication, documentation, and independent execution.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in pricing strategy, monetization, strategy consulting, strategic finance, corporate strategy, deal strategy, or a closely related discipline, ideally within SaaS or enterprise software.
  • Deep expertise in commercial pricing and monetization, including experience with pricing waterfalls, enterprise buying programs, enterprise agreements, channel pricing, marketplace pricing, or related commercial structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute pricing strategies that connect customer value, competitive positioning, business economics, and revenue objectives.
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex data and ambiguous commercial questions into clear recommendations and scalable frameworks.
  • Proven track record of operating as a senior subject matter expert without formal authority, earning the trust of executives and cross-functional leaders through sound judgment, evidence, and strong commercial thinking.
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders across Product, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Revenue Operations, Partners, and other functions, including Vice President and Senior Vice President audiences.
  • Hands-on experience with AI agents, automation, or AI-enabled workflows used in real-world or production environments.
  • Strong bias toward action and iteration, with the ability to make informed strategic decisions, document assumptions, launch programs, and adapt based on new data rather than waiting for perfect information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex pricing concepts clearly and influence stakeholders through concise, compelling business narratives.
  • Strong self-management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote, asynchronous, globally distributed environment.
  • Comfortable working across multiple priorities and business functions while maintaining a strong focus on commercial impact, customer value, and execution quality.
  • Familiarity with cloud marketplaces, channel ecosystems, enterprise software purchasing models, or AI monetization is highly valuable.
Benefits:
  • U.S. base salary range of $139,200–$235,200 USD, with final compensation determined by factors including experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, market data, and geographic location.
  • Equity compensation.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Comprehensive benefits supporting health, financial security, and overall well-being.
  • Flexible Paid Time Off.
  • Parental leave.
  • Growth and Development Fund supporting professional learning and career development.
  • Team Member Resource Groups and an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Fully remote, globally distributed work environment with flexibility in how and where work is performed.
  • Opportunity to work on complex pricing and commercialization challenges spanning enterprise software, AI, cloud marketplaces, and global go-to-market channels.
