GGS Structures is located in Vineland Station. We are a small company that values respect and integrity within our company, as well as with our customers and vendors. We are a very well-established company that provides greenhouse solutions for commercial farms as well as institutions, such as universities. This position is based in Ontario and subject to the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000. GGS is a division of Pipp Mobile Storage Systems, which is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in the United States.
We are seeking a Production Setup and Fixture Technician to support our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for setting up machines, building jigs and fixtures, and determining the safest and most efficient way for operators to product structural components.
As the Production Setup and Fixture Technician, your main duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabrication details to design, build, and modify jigs and fixtures for repeatable production.
- Setting up saws, drill presses, and rolling machines.
- Defining safe and efficient methods for loading and unloading parts.
- Performing first-piece setups and adjustments before production begins.
- Supporting operators and troubleshooting setup related issues.
- Ensuring setups meet safety and quality standards.
Key Qualifications:
The Ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering or fabrication drawings
- Hands-on experience with machine setup and fixtures
- Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
- Experience working with saws, drill presses, and rollers
- Solid attention to detail and a safety-focused mindset
- Manufacturing or fabrication with steel or aluminum preferred
- Post-secondary education in a mechanical or manufacturing field or equivalent hands-on experience
