Payroll Specialist

Location: Littleton, CO, United States

Description

Position Purpose

You will join LONG's Accounting and Payroll team to process weekly, biweekly & monthly payrolls on a set schedule, prepare weekly Certified Payroll Reports and assist with the preparation and review of monthly union filings.

Pay Range: $25 - $27.88 per hr. plus potential profit share.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties or tasks assigned as required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Process weekly, biweekly & monthly payroll, including timesheet collection, data entry, payroll processing, and tax payments.
  • Develop an understanding of payroll processes across multiple systems and assist in auditing timesheets and payroll inputs for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare weekly Certified Payroll Reporting and assist with monthly union filings.
  • Prepare journal entries in conjunction with payroll processing.
  • Serve as a point of contact for payroll related inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Other Duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of office or administrative experience.
  • Associate's degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability within a team environment.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to identify discrepancies, data entry errors, and inconsistencies of yourself and others, using various tools and methods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and proactively identify solutions.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and task prioritization skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations or other Accounting and ERP Software.
  • Experience with certified payroll reporting and union reporting.

Physical Requirements

  • This position may require lifting to 25 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor.
