About Fountain Comfort Group
Fountain Comfort Group is a premier regional network of home service brands, including MVP, A/C Plus, M&S, and Snowbird. As we transition into our next chapter as a fully independent organization, we are seeking a strategic and hands-on HR Manager to lead our People Operations. This is a pivotal leadership role within our corporate team, responsible for professionalizing our HR infrastructure and supporting our rapid expansion across the multi-state region.
The Role
The HR Manager is the architect of the Fountain Comfort Group employee experience. Reporting to the leadership team, you will move beyond basic administration to drive departmental excellence. You will be responsible for balancing high-level strategy—such as policy development and organizational scaling—with the daily execution of payroll, benefits, and compliance. This role requires a leader who can partner with General Managers to build a high-performance culture across our diverse trade brands.
Key Responsibilities
Departmental Leadership & Strategy
- Policy Development: Design, implement, and maintain a unified FCG Employee Handbook and Corporate Policy Manual that reflects our independent identity.
- GM Partnership: Serve as a strategic consultant to local General Managers, providing expert guidance on performance management, disciplinary actions, and organizational design.
- Process Institutionalization: Evaluate and improve all HR workflows to ensure they are scalable for future acquisitions and market growth.
- Benefits Strategy: Direct the annual open enrollment process and serve as the primary liaison with insurance brokers and 401(k) providers.
- Compliance Authority: Ensure FCG remains 100% compliant with multi-state labor laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA). Maintain all employee records to an "audit-ready" corporate standard.
- Risk Management: Oversee Workers’ Compensation claims and safety compliance reporting, working to minimize organizational risk.
- The "Red Carpet" Onboarding: Elevate the onboarding experience to ensure new hires are culturally integrated and technically equipped from Day 1.
- HRIS Mastery: Serve as the "Power User" and Administrator for Paylocity, ensuring data integrity for payroll, job changes, and trade-specific credential tracking.
- Employee Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for complex employee relations issues, conducting internal investigations with the highest level of discretion and "The Vault" mentality.
- The Strategic Builder: You aren't just looking for a seat at the table; you want to build the table. You enjoy the challenge of creating order out of high-growth environments.
- Trade Fluency: You thrive in the fast-paced, "blue-collar" world of HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical services. You can earn the respect of field technicians and executives alike.
- Data Integrity: You believe that HR is a science. You are obsessed with accuracy in Paylocity and believe that clean documentation is the foundation of a great company.
- Experience: 6–10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management or lead capacity. Experience in multi-site, distributed workforces, or the skilled trades is highly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Certification: SHRM-SCP or SPHR is strongly preferred and will be prioritized.
- Technical Skill: Advanced proficiency in Paylocity (or similar HRIS), Google Workspace, and multi-state compliance.
- Competitive Salary: Highly competitive base salary acknowledging the management level of this role.
- Comprehensive Benefits: Premium Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans.
- Retirement: 401(k) with a generous company match.
- Ownership: A seat at the leadership table during a foundational era for the organization.
- Perks: Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid company holidays.
