We are committed to remaining the industry leader by focusing on continuous growth and improvement in our 4 areas of focus: Materials/Railroad Services/Equipment/Terminal ServicesThe Knuckle Boom Operator is responsible for operating equipment to load/unload trucks, unload railroad cars, move and sort materials throughout the yard, de-plate ties. Knuckle boom operator experience is required; you must have the ability to pivot from task to task based on daily priorities. Will be cross trained in several different positions in case needed.Major Areas of Responsibility:Operate knuckle boom/grapple equipment and other various types of heavy equipment to load/unload flatbed trucks, load product into tipper trailers and unload railcars, sort and move materials in the yard, deplate ties Will be trained on how to load trailers to correct axle weight according to DOT axle weight lawsInspect and maintain equipment and grinding system in accordance with policies and procedures Practice proper housekeeping with clean, properly maintained tools and equipmentMaintain compliance with all safety requirements, policies, and procedures Complete and maintain all required safety training and certifications Groundwork, general maintenance when needed on conveyor system Minimum Qualifications:Must be at least 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred1 year of applied experience operating front end loader Valid driver’s license required; must not have any major driving offenses within the last three yearsDependable and consistent attendance/punctualityEffective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English fluentlyStrong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detailDemonstrated initiative to proactively seek out work and complete tasks Must work well with others on a team, while still being able to complete tasks independently.Work Requirements:Dependable and consistent attendance/punctualityAbility to work outdoors in a tie grinding facility yard environment subject to all weather elements and conditionsAbility to safely operate equipmentAbility to learn the railroad industry, building knowledge of different types of ties and identifying flaws/defectsAbility to mount and dismount equipment freely, without assistanceAbility to meet all functional requirements including but not limited to lifting (up to 60lbs), sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, bending, squatting, finger dexterity, and reaching above/below shoulders.Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with a diverse group.Ability to change easily from one task to another (varying in nature) and deal with competing demandsComprehensive Benefits offered:Quarterly Bonus Incentive OpportunityFull health benefits including medical, vision, dentalCompany Paid Short-term Disability, Long-term Disability, and Life Insurance401(K) retirement plan with company matchingPaid time offStable work through all seasons with, full time work through the winterAnnual Company clothing store allowance and reimbursement for safety bootsParental leaveCompany match on charitable donationsWe look forward to receiving your application!Omaha Track, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected status or characteristic.
