As an AS9100D-certified organization, we operate a full-service 73,000-square-foot facility offering rapid prototyping, pilot and production runs, assembly, welding, spot welding, CNC machining, painting, and silk screen printing. We are strategically positioned for growth and are seeking talented individuals to join our team.

Role Purpose

The Painter is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing metal parts using powder coating and wet paint application processes. This role includes surface preparation, masking, application of coatings, curing, inspection, and maintenance of painting equipment while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and production standards.

Scope & ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
  • Prepare and mask parts for powder coating and/or wet paint processes
  • Perform surface preparation activities including cleaning, masking, and sandblasting as required
  • Apply powder coat and/or wet paint using spray equipment and related tools
  • Load and unload parts onto fixtures, racks, and conveyor systems
  • Operate coating equipment including spray guns, hoppers, booths, and collection systems
  • Monitor ovens and bake parts at appropriate temperatures and time cycles per specifications
  • Remove cured parts from ovens and prepare for inspection or next process step
  • Inspect painted and powder-coated parts for quality, coverage, consistency, and cosmetic defects
  • Perform visual inspections and use measurement tools such as viscometers to verify coating quality and viscosity
  • Follow established procedures for thermosetting resin coatings, wash processes, and pretreatment systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance on powder coating booths, including filter changes and proper disposal of materials
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe workstations at all times
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of paint and coating materials in compliance with safety regulations
  • Observe equipment gauges and system operations to detect defects or process issues
  • Adjust paint flow, application settings, and coating parameters as needed to maintain quality standards
  • Ensure all components meet company quality standards and customer specifications
  • Support on-time production and quality goals across all coating operations
  • Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment
  • Collaborate with supervisors and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs
Work Experience & SkillsEducation
  • High school diploma or GED required
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in powder coating and/or wet paint application preferred
  • Manufacturing or industrial painting experience strongly preferred
Skills / Knowledge
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and safety documentation
  • Knowledge of powder coating and/or wet paint processes and application techniques
  • Understanding of surface preparation, masking, and finishing processes
  • Familiarity with coating equipment operation and maintenance
  • Strong attention to detail and visual quality inspection skills
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and tracking systems
  • Ability to read and follow safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions

Working Conditions & Physical RequirementsWorking Conditions
  • Work is performed primarily on a manufacturing floor
  • Exposure to paint materials, chemicals, ovens, dust, noise, and industrial equipment
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing as required
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand continuously throughout the work shift
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds regularly
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of parts and equipment
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, including heated curing environments
