Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs various basic and advanced duties essential to the procurement of information technology capital equipment, , operational maintenance and support services. Responsible for managing the Information Services Department procurement process to include: assisting other IS Departments with purchasing memos, bid and proposal activity, and product evaluation to include research and develop sources for products, equipment, and services. Ensures compliance with Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) contracts. Prepares and issues memos/446 ensuring competition to the fullest extent practicable. Evaluates and prepares memos from vendor proposals, coordinates with the requesting IS Department and makes recommendation to key stakeholders. Should be familiar with various medical and information technology equipment types, IT acquisitions and services, and projects. Reviews terms and conditions submitted by vendors for conflict with the Health System’s terms and conditions. Manages and tracks purchases and contracts after award to ensure compliance with the mutually agreed upon terms and conditions as well as in the preparation of future IS budgets. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement & Acquisition Management or other related field is required. Additionally, Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP), or other procurement and acquisition certification is preferred. Three years of operational and capital equipment procurement experience is required. Four years of increasingly complex negotiation and project management experience is preferred. Two years of healthcare related equipment purchasing experience is highly desired.
