Schedule: 4-day work week (4 x 10-hour shifts)

Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee construction, installation, and maintenance of our distribution system
- Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards
- Stay ahead of the curve by learning and implementing new technologies and equipment
- Assign personnel and equipment to maximize productivity and safety
- Lead daily tailboard (tailgate) meetings to reinforce safe work practices
- Jump in and perform line work when needed—this is a working leadership role
- Maintain accurate time, material, and system records
- Resolve customer inquiries with professionalism and urgency
- Set the example for your crew—ensuring every interaction reflects Cobb EMC’s commitment to service
- Lead all aspects of team management: hiring, coaching, development, and performance reviews
- Build a culture of accountability, fairness, and continuous improvement

- Clear progression path:
Line Foreman Step 1 → Step 2 (after 4 years of strong performance) - Ongoing training and certifications to keep you advancing
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 8+ years in electric utility line construction/maintenance
- 3+ years as a Journeyman/First Class Lineman
- Advanced knowledge of:
- Live-line work (overhead & underground)
- Distribution systems & substations
- GUFPA regulations, safety standards, and first aid practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to operate substation and line apparatus for testing
- Required credentials:
- Valid Class A Georgia CDL (with endorsements)
- Georgia Flagging Certification
- Cobb County Excavating & Trenching Certification
- ITS Operator Certification
