Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for supervision of the control, accuracy, and movement of materials in and out of warehouse and point of distribution. Also oversee cost management, metric development and monitoring as well as provide input for labor planning for receiving, warehousing, and shipping.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Supervise and direct receiving, shipping, warehousing and material handling to ensure all materials are delivered, stocked and issued in a timely, safe and quality assured manner.
- Develop, mentor, and guide the stockroom & distribution team members to achieve desired performance goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Proactively drive improvement in SAFETY by:
- Communicating daily safety initiatives.
- Confirming all training is completed on-time.
- Ensuring all safety actions for assigned area are implemented within 30 days.
- Lead any incident investigations to be completed within 24 hours.
- Complete and ensure compliance for risk assessments being implemented for all processes within defined area.
- Monitor daily to ensure all safety policies & expectations are being followed
- Lead 5S implementation.
- Implement lean standards to improve efficiency of indirect team to drive improvement in external customer on-time delivery.
- Leverage industry best practices to continuously improve our current processes into a world class, high-volume distribution center.
- First point of contact for all escalations for the warehouse area to be resolved or further escalated within a timely manner, informing department manager.
- Assist with creation of and communicate daily expectations. Drive the plan to meet goals developed for assigned area.
- Responsible for cross-training/developing team in all required competencies.
- Holds team accountable to meet all policies, procedures, goals & expectations with thorough documentation.
- Inspire and motivate the team to drive actions to consistently meet/exceed goals.
- Responsible for ensuring all product meets customer & regulatory body requirements.
- Own resolving all nonconforming product issues timely in accordance with quality policy.
- Lead in communicating corrective actions to reduce repeat failures to all stakeholders.
- Coordinate and assign activities to receive and store incoming materials and prepare domestic and foreign freight for shipment.
- Prepare a variety of reports relating to warehouse activities to track internal & external performance metrics in accordance with the facility and department goals.
- Allocate work to various material handling, shipping, receiving and warehouse personnel to ensure material is shipped and received so that customer requirements may be completed on time.
- Manage the daily and weekly schedules of warehouse employees.
- Representative of leadership team inclusive of being primary backup for Department Manager.
- Model and promote the Hydraulic Technologies Leadership Standards to create an environment that mobilizes empowered people to achieve business goals.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma is required. Some college is preferred.
- 3 years’ work experience in manufacturing environment
- Experience as a supervisor preferred.
- Experience with lean or six-sigma in heavy manufacturing environment preferred.
- SAP experience preferred
- Ability to promote a Safety-Focused culture.
- Demonstrated ability to implement changes to drive improvement to business metrics.
- Strong strategic thinking skills & ability to define a vision for team members.
- Experience developing processes & training.
- High learning agility & willingness to learn warehouse/inventory best practices.
- Understanding of material handling best practices and best cost options.
- Continuous Improvement mentality.
- Proven track record of leadership
- Ability to operate and train on material handling equipment
