Senior IT Manager - AI Innovation & Engineering

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior IT Manager - AI Innovation & Engineering based in United States.

This strategic technology leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the future of enterprise AI innovation by leading teams that design, build, and scale AI-powered products and solutions. You will guide multiple engineering and innovation squads, transforming AI strategies into impactful technology roadmaps and production-ready capabilities. Working across product, engineering, data, architecture, and business teams, you will drive solutions that improve operations, enhance customer experiences, and create measurable business value. The role combines technical depth, people leadership, and innovation management in a collaborative environment focused on responsible AI adoption. Accountabilities:
  • Lead and develop multiple AI engineering and innovation teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Translate enterprise AI strategies into actionable technology roadmaps, delivery plans, and engineering priorities aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee the design, development, deployment, and scaling of AI-powered products and solutions using modern cloud technologies.
  • Provide technical leadership across software architecture, engineering practices, security, testing, performance optimization, and operational reliability.
  • Partner with product, data science, platform engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative AI solutions that address real-world needs.
  • Build, mentor, and retain high-performing engineering teams through effective hiring, coaching, career development, and leadership practices.
  • Manage delivery execution from concept through production, ensuring initiatives meet quality standards, timelines, scalability requirements, and business goals.
  • Drive improvements in Agile delivery practices, engineering standards, DevSecOps processes, and software development workflows.
  • Manage budgets, vendor relationships, project priorities, and team capacity to support successful execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor solution performance, risks, dependencies, and operational health while ensuring long-term sustainability of AI capabilities.
  • Communicate progress, outcomes, recommendations, and strategic opportunities to senior leaders and business partners.
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and industry trends to influence future innovation strategies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8–10+ years of experience delivering AI, software engineering, or technology innovation initiatives, including significant experience leading technical teams.
  • Proven experience managing engineering organizations, including managers or squad leads, with responsibility for performance management, mentoring, and team development.
  • Strong hands-on technical background in software engineering, including Java and/or Python development, service architecture, integrations, and modern application design patterns.
  • Experience designing and building scalable software solutions using cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and modern software delivery methodologies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams involving software engineers, architects, data scientists, and quality engineering professionals.
  • Knowledge of operational monitoring, telemetry, dashboards, alerting systems, and application performance management tools.
  • Experience applying process improvement methodologies, data-driven measurement, and workflow optimization practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence across technical and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical guidance in a fast-moving innovation environment.
