About the Role:
The Leasing Agent plays a critical role in the real estate and rental industry by serving as the primary point of contact between property owners and prospective tenants. This position is responsible for marketing available rental properties, conducting property tours, and facilitating lease agreements to ensure high occupancy rates. The Leasing Agent must effectively communicate property features, rental terms, and community benefits to attract and retain tenants. Additionally, this role involves managing inquiries, processing applications, and coordinating with property management to maintain smooth leasing operations. Ultimately, the Leasing Agent contributes to the financial success of the property portfolio by maximizing rental income and fostering positive tenant relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of real estate leasing laws and regulations.
- Experience working with property management software such as Yardi, AppFolio, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with Fair Housing laws and ethical leasing practices.
- Multilingual abilities to serve diverse tenant populations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct property tours and present rental units to prospective tenants, highlighting key features and benefits.
- Respond promptly to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits, providing accurate information about availability and leasing terms.
- Assist applicants in completing rental applications, verifying references, and processing lease agreements in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with property management and maintenance teams to ensure units are ready for occupancy and address tenant concerns as needed.
- Track leasing activity and prepare regular reports on occupancy rates, tenant feedback, and leasing progress.
- Must have reliable transportation and be available to work weekends and evenings as needed.
Skills:
The Leasing Agent utilizes strong communication skills daily to engage with prospective tenants, clearly explaining leasing terms and property features to facilitate informed decision-making. Customer service skills are essential for building rapport, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive leasing experience that encourages tenant retention. Organizational skills are applied to manage multiple leasing inquiries, schedule property tours, and maintain accurate records of applications and leases. Proficiency with property management software enables efficient tracking of availability, processing of applications, and reporting on leasing metrics.
