CUSTODIAN
Reports to: Vice President, Operations
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment across office spaces, warehouse facilities, print shop, kitchen, and outdoor areas. This role requires flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of multiple work areas. The position involves performing a wide range of janitorial duties and ensuring compliance with all cleaning and safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of standard cleaning methods, materials, tools, and equipment commonly used in the janitorial industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general housekeeping and janitorial duties according to schedule and as needed.
- Sweep, mop, dust, and vacuum floors, stairs, and common areas.
- Empty, clean, and sanitize trash receptacles; replace liners as needed.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, demo kitchen, and workout areas.
- Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms, and other shared spaces.
- Clean sinks, countertops, tables, microwaves, and refrigerators in break areas and kitchens.
- Dust and clean office furniture and surfaces that are accessible and uncluttered.
- Wash windows, blinds, and window sills.
- Maintain cleanliness in stairwells, hallways, and other high-traffic areas.
- Remove litter and debris from the property, sidewalks, picnic areas, and parking lots.
- Replace light bulbs.
- Maintain janitorial closets and storage areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Ensure janitorial equipment is maintained in good working order.
- Properly label, store, dilute, and use all cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA safety guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Janitorial and housekeeping experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret product labels and safety instructions written in English.
- Able to write in English to label products.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Able to use a computer to check email, maintain checklists, and participate in meetings.
- Ability to safely operate and use janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning compounds and solutions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- The position works in an office environment, warehouse facility, print shop, kitchen, and outdoors, as needed.
- This position is exposed to cleaning chemicals on a daily basis.
- Employee must occasionally work in extreme temperatures, from warehouse to freezer, which is -10 to 40 degrees.
- Employee must occasionally work in the company print shop where there is exposure to water-based solvents and airborne particles such as paper dust.
- Employee must occasionally work in demo kitchen where there is exposure to food allergens.

- The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
- Must be able to use a ladder to perform essential functions.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Employee may occasionally drive a personal auto to perform a company task.
