As an Information System Security Officer (ISSO), you'll play a critical role in protecting and maintaining the security posture of mission-critical systems supporting national security initiatives. Working alongside cybersecurity professionals, system administrators, engineers, and government stakeholders, you'll help ensure systems remain compliant, secure, and authorized to operate throughout their lifecycle. Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Information Assurance teams to plan, coordinate, and implement IT security programs, policies, and compliance initiatives.
- Partner with system developers, administrators, and system owners to assess and implement security-related changes.
- Manage system changes and evaluate their security impact throughout the system lifecycle.
- Perform continuous security monitoring, reporting, and compliance activities for supported systems.
- Prepare, maintain, and update security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), in accordance with Intelligence Community and agency requirements.
- Serve as the initial security approval authority for assigned systems and support ongoing authorization activities.
- Utilize COTS and GOTS tools to communicate system status, security posture, and compliance metrics to stakeholders.
- Support the Authorizing Official (AO), Delegated Authorizing Official (DAO), Security Control Assessor (SCA), and Information System Security Manager (ISSM) with Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities to obtain and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) approvals.
- Review, prioritize, and respond to security-related tickets and remediation efforts.
- Leverage technical expertise across Windows and Linux environments, networking, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity tools to support system security operations.
Job Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required
- High School Diploma with 10 years of work experience in any combination of: System Administrator (SA), Information System Security Officer (ISSO), Information System Security Engineer (ISSE), Information Technology (IT) Service Desk, Computer Network Defense (CND) Analyst, Telecommunication Technician, and Network Administration; OR Associates Degree in Information Technology Discipline with 4 years of work experience in any combination of: System Administrator (SA), Information System Security Officer (ISSO), Information System Security Engineer (ISSE), Information Technology (IT) Service Desk, Computer Network Defense (CND) Analyst, Telecommunication Technician, and Network Administration; OR Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology Discipline with 2 years of work experience in any combination of: System Administrator (SA), Information System Security Officer (ISSO), Information System Security Engineer (ISSE), Information Technology (IT) Service Desk, Computer Network Defense (CND) Analyst, Telecommunication Technician, and Network Administration
- Active Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I or higher compliant with DoD 8570 (SEC+; CAP; CND; Cloud+; GSLC; HCISSP, etc.) is required.
- Experience supporting Windows and/or Linux system administration environments.
- Experience with network administration concepts and technologies.
- Experience supporting cloud environments, preferably AWS.
- Familiarity with security monitoring, audit reduction, and analysis tools such as Splunk.
- Experience utilizing vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus.
- Experience working with cybersecurity governance and compliance tools such as Xacta and LatteArt.
- Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC), DoD, and NIST cybersecurity policies, frameworks, and procedures.
