Job Description
Insight Xcite is seeking a hands-on Field Engineer / Installer in Fairfax, Virginia, to support deployment, testing, repair, and maintenance of network and communications equipment. The role may require substantial domestic or international travel.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, test, and maintain routers, switches, servers, cabling, power systems, and related equipment.
- Perform site surveys and prepare installation plans, equipment lists, and readiness assessments.
- Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, power, and performance issues in field environments.
- Document configurations, test results, repairs, inventories, and site acceptance activities.
- Coordinate with customers and engineering teams and travel as required to support deployments.
- Hands-on experience installing or maintaining network, communications, or IT infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of routers, switches, structured cabling, rack equipment, power systems, and test tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot independently, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate with customers.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite and travel domestically or internationally as mission needs require.
- Experience supporting secure government or mission environments.
- Experience with Cisco platforms, fiber optics, wireless systems, servers, or tactical communications.
- Relevant networking, electronics, cabling, or field-service certifications.

Applicants must currently possess an active TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph (FSP) to be considered for employment.

Work Location RequirementAll Insight Xcite positions are onsite. We do not offer remote or hybrid opportunities.
Applicants must be willing and able to work in person at the designated customer location.

The pay range for this role is:
130,000 - 180,000 USD per year(Government Client Site – Fairfax VA)
