DevOps Engineer in Fairfax, Virginia at Xenon Innovations, Inc

You will build and operate the pipelines, environments, and release machinery that let engineers move quickly across both unclassified and classified development enclaves, including the air-gapped ones, where every release depends on the reproducibility of the build and tool chains.

Build and CI/CD

• Own CI/CD pipelines across embedded, firmware, and application build targets
• Manage compilation toolchains, build reproducibility, and dependency caching
• Automate test execution, including hardware-in-the-loop test integration where applicable
• Reduce build and feedback times as a standing objective

Development environments

• Provision and maintain development, integration, and test environments across security domains
• Operate artifact repositories, container registries, and internal package mirrors
• Manage the transfer and synchronization processes that keep air-gapped enclaves current

Release engineering and configuration management

• Own baseline definition, versioning, and release packaging for delivered software and firmware
• Maintain configuration management records supporting program baseline control
• Build and validate installation, update, and rollback procedures for fielded systems

Infrastructure

• Manage infrastructure-as-code for development and test infrastructure
• Administer source control, issue tracking, and engineering tooling
• Support capacity planning and infrastructure lifecycle

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience
• 4+ years in DevOps, build engineering, or platform engineering
• Hands-on experience with Bitbucket, GitLab CI, or equivalent
• Experience with containerization and infrastructure-as-code
• Strong scripting ability in Python and Bash
• Linux system administration depth
• Active TS/SCI

• Prior experience operating build infrastructure in air-gapped or classified enclaves
• Embedded and cross-compiled build experience (Yocto, Buildroot, vendor SDKs)
• Hardware-in-the-loop or automated test lab infrastructure experience
• Familiarity with configuration management expectations on programs of record
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

Estimated Salary Range: $125,000-$195,000 per year
