Snow Removal Subcontractors will provide snow and ice management services for commercial properties during winter weather events. The subcontractor is responsible for safely and efficiently performing snow plowing, snow blowing, shoveling, salting, and de-icing services in accordance with company standards and client expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to snow and ice events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform snow plowing, snow blowing, sidewalk clearing, and ice control services.
- Apply salt, ice melt, and other de-icing materials as directed.
- Monitor site conditions and report hazards, property damage, or safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain assigned routes and service locations according to service specifications.
- Document services performed, including arrival/departure times and material usage.
- Communicate with the Snow Operations Manager regarding site conditions, equipment issues, and service completion.
- Adhere to all safety requirements and company operating procedures.
- Maintain professional conduct when interacting with clients, property managers, and the public.
Qualifications
- Previous snow removal experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to operate snow plows, skid steers, loaders, tractors, snow blowers, and related equipment (if applicable).
- Reliable transportation and communication device.
- Ability to work extended hours during winter storm events.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk, shovel, push, pull, and work outdoors in cold, wet, and snowy conditions.
- Ability to work extended shifts and varying schedules during weather events.
Equipment Requirements (if providing own equipment)
- Commercial-grade snow removal equipment meeting company standards.
- Proof of vehicle and equipment ownership or lease.
- Required insurance coverage as specified in subcontractor agreement.
- Equipment maintained in safe, working condition throughout the season.
Required Documentation
- Signed Independent Contractor Agreement.
- Certificate of Insurance meeting company requirements.
- W-9 form.
- Copies of applicable licenses and registrations.
Performance Expectations
- Timely response to assigned snow events.
- Completion of services according to service standards.
- Safe operation of equipment.
- Reliable communication and documentation.
- Professional representation of the company and its clients.
Availability: On-call, seasonal position during snow and ice events.
