Job Description

Associate Director, Global eCommerce & Marketing

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director, Global eCommerce & Marketing based in Canada.

This role is a senior digital leadership position responsible for shaping and enabling a global digital commerce and marketing technology ecosystem. You will define how enterprise web, eCommerce, search, CMS, and MarTech platforms come together to deliver consistent, scalable, and high-performing customer experiences across regions. Acting as a key bridge between business strategy and technical execution, you will partner with marketing, product, engineering, and architecture teams to translate commercial goals into robust, future-ready solutions. The role carries broad global scope, influencing platform standards, vendor strategy, and digital transformation initiatives across multiple markets. You will also guide complex platform rollouts, ensure operational stability, and drive alignment across distributed teams. This is a highly visible leadership role where technical depth and strategic thinking combine to shape the organization’s digital commerce future.

Accountabilities
  • Define and govern the global digital commerce and marketing technology ecosystem, including CMS, eCommerce platforms, search, localization frameworks, and MarTech integrations, ensuring scalable and secure architecture across regions.
  • Act as technical lead for major digital transformation initiatives such as platform migrations, global rollouts, and capability expansions, translating business requirements into executable solution designs.
  • Partner with marketing, sales, product, and engineering stakeholders to align roadmaps, manage dependencies, and ensure delivery execution supports long-term digital and commercial objectives.
  • Oversee vendor and technology partner relationships, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards, performance expectations, and strategic roadmap priorities.
  • Provide escalation support for complex production issues, cross-platform defects, and operational challenges while ensuring stability and continuity of digital services.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop architects, engineers, and product professionals, fostering consistency in architecture practices, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in digital platforms, eCommerce, CMS, and MarTech ecosystems, ideally within complex global or multi-regional enterprise environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, including planning, prioritization, and delivery of large-scale software or digital initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of modern digital architecture, including SaaS platforms, integrations, eCommerce solutions (e.g., Shopify Plus), and marketing technologies.
  • Proven experience leading global or multi-language digital rollouts, ensuring consistency across localized and centralized content and platform governance.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate complex architecture into clear business value.
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD practices, enterprise-scale delivery models, and working within structured frameworks such as SAFe is an asset.
Benefits
  • Competitive annual base salary ranging from $166,000 to $216,000 CAD, with potential bonus and incentive compensation based on performance.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability coverage, and life insurance.
  • Retirement savings support and long-term financial security programs.
  • Paid time off, statutory holidays, and flexible leave options.
  • Tuition assistance and continuous learning support for professional development.
  • Opportunity to work on large-scale global digital transformation programs with significant enterprise impact.
