Job Description
We are seeking a Systems Engineering Analyst to provide on-site engineering support for airborne mission systems. The successful candidate will support operational stakeholders through technical analysis, problem-solving, reporting, system investigation, and knowledge transfer. This role is well suited to a systems engineering professional with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work effectively in highly technical, customer-facing environments.
A key aspect of this role is working directly alongside customers and operational teams in a secure environment. This close collaboration enables timely problem resolution, a deeper understanding of operational requirements, and the opportunity to build trusted relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site engineering support for operational systems, including electronic warfare and mission support environments
- Diagnose complex failure conditions and perform in-situ repair and modifications on a variety of electrical and computer related systems
- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance tasks monitoring calibration requirements, creating backups, ordering replacement parts
- Lead and support technical investigations related to system, software, subsystem, equipment, and facility issues
- Prepare status materials and conduct regular status meetings with stakeholder representatives, including customer and contractor teams.
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to support personnel on system functionality, operational procedures, and tools
- Analyze requirements and contribute to verification planning, test coverage analysis, and system validation activities
- Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation, test procedures, and reports
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including systems, software, test, customer support, and program stakeholders
- Identify risks, communicate technical status, and recommend practical solutions to support operational readiness
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of 4 years' relevant engineering experience
- Experience supporting complex defence, aviation, communications, electronic warfare, or mission systems
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills in hardware, software, or integrated systems environments
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- Experience working in secure or controlled technical environments.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain required security clearances and controlled goods/ITAR-related approvals, as applicable
- Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Electronic Warfare Operational Support
- Familiarity with requirements management and test tools such as IBM DOORS, RTC EWM, or similar platforms
- Experience creating or maintaining test procedures, qualification test documentation, technical reports, or verification evidence
- Experience providing customer-facing engineering support in an operational or field environment
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553

Working Environment
This role will involve working on-site with customer and operational teams in a secure technical environment. The position requires professionalism, discretion, and the ability to support mission-critical systems while maintaining compliance with applicable security, export control, and customer requirements.
It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.
Additional Information
The hiring salary for this position is between $85,000 and $120,000 commensurate with the qualifications of the selected candidate. The final compensation will be determined based on an assessment of the candidates qualifications, including relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity considerations.
