Die Cast Process Technician in St Joseph, Michigan at Hoffmann Die Cast LLC

Hoffmann Die Cast is seeking an experienced Die Cast Process Technician to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in die casting processes, troubleshooting, process monitoring, and maintaining production and quality standards.

This is not an entry-level position. Applicants must have previous die casting process experience to be considered.

• Monitor, control, and optimize die casting processes to maintain production efficiency and quality standards.
• Utilize process monitoring equipment to evaluate machine performance and process consistency.
• Monitor and adjust machine parameters, die lubrication, molten metal temperatures, die temperatures, and tie bar loading.
• Verify process audits completed by Die Cast Operators and Supervisors.
• Assist Die Cast Supervisors with troubleshooting process issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
• Complete corrective action reports accurately and promptly.
• Track shot tip and cold chamber performance, wear, and service life.
• Establish process standards for new jobs and update existing standards to maintain quality requirements and quoted production rates.
• Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and increase overall process efficiency.
• Maintain accurate documentation of process changes and adjustments.

MUST HAVE PREVIOUS DIE CAST PROCESS EXPERIENCE.

• Proven hands-on experience monitoring, adjusting, and troubleshooting die casting processes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret graphs, scales, process data, and technical information.
• Understanding of pressure, time, and velocity relationships within the die casting process.
• Experience identifying and correcting process-related quality issues.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with production personnel and supervisors.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality.

• Experience operating or troubleshooting Toshiba Die Cast Machines.
• Experience establishing and maintaining die casting process parameters.
• Background in high-pressure die casting manufacturing.
