Job Summary
The Plant Operations Manager – Plumbing Division is a critical, high‑impact operational leadership role within AMPAM’s Supply Chain Planning & Operations department. This position provides the on‑the‑ground execution engine required to stabilize and elevate warehouse operations, fabrication support, logistics, and job‑site delivery performance at the Carson facility.
Key Responsibilities Include: (But not limited to the following)
Warehouse & Material Flow Optimization
- Evaluate and re-define warehouse layout, zoning, labeling, and staging to enable efficient material flow from receiving through loading
- Establish and enforce structured processes across receiving, put away, staging, and delivery preparation
- Improve warehouse utilization, organization, and inventory accessibility
Logistics & Job-Site Delivery Performance
- Own routing, dispatch, loading discipline, and delivery execution across all trades
- Improve delivery accuracy, job-site readiness, and overall service reliability
- Implement structured routing logic and support continuous improvement in delivery planning
- Develop and enforce a formal returns management process to reduce material leakage, improve visibility, and recover value
Operations Leadership & Workforce Management
- Lead warehouse, logistics, and fabrication support teams, ensuring productivity, accountability, and alignment with operational targets
- Evaluate team capability and performance; implement staffing adjustments and development plans as needed
- Establish clear expectations, daily structure, and accountability mechanisms across all functions
Daily Execution & Operational Discipline
- Lead daily operational huddles and drive readiness across warehouse, logistics, and prefab support teams
- Ensure that materials, resources, and deliveries are aligned to production and field needs
- Ensure operational standards are enforced consistently across all functions
- Drive a culture of ownership, urgency, and disciplined execution
Cross-Functional Alignment
- Partner closely with Planning, Procurement, Prefabrication, and Field Operations to ensure seamless material flow and execution
- Act as the central coordination point between supply chain operations and field delivery requirements
Performance Management KPIs & Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Establish and drive key performance indicators (KPIs), including warehouse accuracy, staging readiness, on-time delivery performance, and material rehandling reduction.
- Implement performance tracking and reporting to improve visibility and accountability
- Replace informal/tribal knowledge with standardized, documented, and repeatable processes across warehouse, logistics, and staging operations
- Ensure consistent adherence to processes and immediately address deviations
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain and enforce AMPAM safety standards across all operations
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements
Who You are
- 7–10+ years of leadership experience in operations, including warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or construction operations environments
- Proven experience stabilizing, scaling, or improving operational performance in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership capability managing frontline teams and supervisors across multiple functions
- Experience implementing standardized processes, KPIs, and performance management systems
- Construction or MEP experience preferred, but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP or warehouse/logistics systems is a plus
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or fabrication-related tools is a plus
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to operate with limited supervision and drive execution through others
