About the Role:
The Facility Lifeguard at Kirtland ARF Aquatics Center plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all patrons at the aquatic facility. This position requires constant vigilance and the ability to respond swiftly to emergencies, thereby preventing accidents and injuries. Lifeguards are responsible for enforcing facility rules and regulations to promote a safe environment for all users. Additionally, they will conduct regular safety checks and maintain cleanliness in and around the pool area. Ultimately, the Facility Lifeguard contributes to a positive and secure recreational experience for individuals and families alike. Schedule of work: Monday - Friday only 5:30-8:30AM, 10:30-1:30PM, and 3:30-6:30PM. No weekends or federal holidays.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current lifeguard certification from American Red Cross, StarGuard ELITE, or Ellis & Associates
- Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and standard First Aid.
- 18+ years old minimum.
- Must pass a background check for base access.
- Swim test: 300-yard swim, 2-minute tread, and a 10-lb brick retrieval from 7 ft in under 1:40
- Health & Welfare benefit: $5.42 per hour in addition to your hourly rate, for every paid hour up to 40 hours per week. Paid as cash or as benefit-plan contributions.
- Paid sick leave: 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 56 hours per year. Can be used for your own health needs, to care for a family member, or for reasons related to domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking.
- 11 paid holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. The pool is closed on these days.
- Paid vacation: 2 weeks after 1 year of service, 3 weeks after 10 years, and 4 weeks after 15 years.
- Group benefits (30+ hours per week): Employees regularly scheduled 30 or more hours per week are eligible for Swan's benefits through ADP TotalSource: medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, an Employee Assistance Program, and employee discount programs.
- Salary: $14.00–$16.50/hr, based on experience and certifications, plus $5.42/hr health & welfare ($19.42–$21.92/hr total)
