Senior Center Cook in Kansas City, Missouri at Greater KC LINC Inc

Are you passionate about preparing nutritious meals and serving older adults in your community? The LINC Caring Community /Palestine Senior Center is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team. This role supports the Kitchen Manager in preparing, cooking, and serving daily meals that meet health and safety standards while creating a welcoming environment for seniors.

• Prepare and cook daily meals following established menus and recipes.

• Assist with plating, portioning, and serving meals.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.

• Support inventory and supply needs by reporting shortages and rotating stock.

• Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations.

• Work closely with the Kitchen Manager and kitchen team to ensure efficient, high-quality service.

• High school diploma or GED required; culinary training preferred.

• At least 2 years of experience in food preparation (institutional or commercial kitchen preferred).

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

• Valid food handler’s certification (or ability to obtain).

• Team player with reliability, professionalism, and strong communication skills.
